This starts off in my backyard, which is so cool. I will simply narrate this on my green screen over it as I walk through it because that’ll give you the best picture, quality and audio quality while allowing me to focus on talking about what you’re seeing. What I’ll do now is a walk through of the studio with you, then I will come back and talk about my workflow.
You might need to edit your videos at first, I do that with Final Cut Pro X. That helps me to have flexibility and not need to edit the videos I record, which saves me a fantastic amount of time and energy. I have an Elgato Stream Deck to move my face around like this. In the scenes, I do the same thing, I make specific scenes for each profile, that way everything is where it’s supposed to be. I set up a profile for horizontal where it’s 1920 by 1080, then I make another profile for vertical where it’s 1080 by 1920.
I also pair that with Paper Lanterns with 75 Watts reveal light bulbs that give me a nice even light across my green screen to give it that professional look.įor the microphone, I use the Electro Voice RE-20 Cardioid microphone.įor the USB interface that actually takes the input from the microphone and gets it into a format that the computer can handle, I use a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2.įor the software, I use Open Broadcaster Software with profiles and scenes for horizontal and vertical videos.Īll I need to do in OBS is I go into profiles and I set up different formats that the screen is in. I can turn it up or down to get the right amount of shine so there’s not too much and not too little. I can pick the exact light that looks the best. This was a missing element for my studio for a lot of time and what I love is if I hit buttons, I can change exactly how the lighting looks on me. I have a Selfie Ring Light that allows me to have beautiful lighting on myself. I don’t have to film videos, and then take the card out and edit it. I take it out of the Canon camera with the HDMI cable and it goes right into the capture card, right into the computer in real time with OBS. The Canon XA11 Camcorder gives me this beautiful picture. That said, I recommend just try doing some lower-quality videos to make sure you enjoyed doing it before investing in all the equipment.Ĭanon XA11 Camcorder, Magewell capture card. However, all of this together you can get at a price that will allow you to make a lot of other money. You might also need some foam to absorb some of the sound and to have it any sound proof for sound resistant or minimal sound area. You might need a green screen, which I’ve got the office painted, so I don’t need a green screen.
However, if you want to actually make the most money and have it be the worst the most time, all of this on here costs less than $2,000 and it will give you the same quality setup that I’ve got a long with a few more things. You can obviously spend less on various parts of it. As soon as I tell you what equipment I’m using, then we’ll go through my workflow as to how I actually use the equipment, and after that I’ll show you how I make money out of all of it. What I’ll do first is to walk you through the studio tour where I show you how all the equipment is set up.
That said, you want to put both of these filming approaches together because when you get people to discover you and watch a little bit in a vertical mobile friendly video, then you get someone over to watch your longer format horizontal videos, that’s when you make sales, that’s when you get ad revenue and that’s when you can do a whole business out of this. My videos are actually getting watched more in mobile than in horizontal.
TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram story videos in vertical format are hot. I just calculated the other day, I make an average of $275 for every video I upload, and the best part is with this filming studio it only takes me one to three hours to make a video, and in fact these story videos, I can make four or five of them in an hour. I’ll show you the exact workflow I use to put videos out to YouTube in horizontal and to TikTok in vertical as well as share those in stories, and I’ll even show you how I make money out of all this. I’ll show you the exact equipment I’ve gotten in my studio.
You are about to discover a fantastic studio filming setup that I’m using today to film both vertical story videos for Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok, and the exact same studio setup that I’m using to film this video now in horizontal, and the best part is I don’t have to move the camera at all to make it possible.
